| | | | There are many different aspects to the work of the Ballan & District Community House and Adult Education Centre, and many tasks are undertaken by volunteers. Without this assistance, it would not be possible to offer the wide range of activities and courses on offer.
Several of the classes run at the Community House are provided by volunteers and volunteers run the monthly Men's Group barbeque at the IGA on the second Saturday of the month and volunteers help stock the library of books, dvds and jigsaws which is available to members to borrow. We also have volunteers who give their time to help in the office by answering phone queries and by doing graphic design, typing, photocopying and related tasks. Our costume collection depends on volunteer assistance. Each volunteer is encouraged to become involved in the mission of the Community House to reduce social isolation and to increase the skills and experience of the residents in the district. All volunteers have rights and appropriate responsibilities and are supported in obtaining appropriate training.
