Ballan & District Community House
The Ballan & District Community House is a hive of activity with a variety of courses, groups and sessions providing the community with a friendly and happy atmosphere in which to develop skills, broaden interests and extend social contacts.
Our staff members and committee of management work together to ensure the Community House operates efficiently and in the best interests of Ballan and District.
A dedicated volunteer group provides invaluable support in the day to day administration and running of the Centre.
The Community House can be accessed through the main entrance of the Mechanics’ Institute Hall located at 143 Inglis St, Ballan 76 Steiglitz Street, Ballan or by the rear entrance entry via Steiglitz St.
The Ballan & District Community House extends to you the invitation to drop in for a chat, a cuppa and the chance to discover a whole new world of opportunities and interests, as well as the guarantee of forming new friendships.

Service Area
The Ballan & District Community House is proud to offer support and services to the entire Moorabool Shire including the townships of Ballan, Blackwood, Gordon, Greendale, Korweinguboora, Lal Lal, Mt Egerton, Myrniong, Navigators and Bacchus Marsh.

Brief History
Initially occupying a small residence in Edols Street Ballan from 1991-2003, the Ballan and District Community House has been an active part of the Mechanics Institute Reserve site located in Inglis Street since it was significantly renovated in 2003. Together the Institute and Community House comprise the Ballan & District Community Centre complex.
It is a thriving and growing facility responding to community needs by providing a holistic approach to lifelong learning. The Ballan & District Community House offers a range of diverse programs located in modern facilities.
